Yes, our office manager will be on site from 10am - 5pm 7 days per week so if you have event enquiries, lost property or any other questions please visit us or give us a call. Telephone: 0131 624 8633
We are open on the following days: Monday: 10:30pm - 3am Wednesday: 10:30pm - 3am
Friday: 10:30pm - 3am Saturday: 10:30pm - 3am Guestlist closes are midnight. Entry is not permitted after 2am. Please check our events page here for information on special events.
The safety and security of our staff, security and customers is our top priority. Security checks are carried out by both male and female security staff. Why Not reserves the right to refuse admission to any person who fails to comply with our security policy.

Guests are required to provide a valid, in-date passport or driving license (including provisional) on arrival. Guests must bring the original ID, photocopies or photographs will not be accepted.
Yes we have a cloakroom at Why Not.
CLOAKROOM POLICY
- One item per hanger or ticket.
- Please keep your ticket safe to claim your property.
- We may only be able to deal with lost tickets once the cloakroom has closed at the end of each event due to being very busy. - Our staff do their best to manage the cloakroom however, guests agree to leave items at their own risk. - If your jacket has been lost from the cloakroom and you still have your ticket you may submit a claim via email up to the value of £50.
For the safety and comfort of all our guests, any large bags will be subject to search on arrival or prior to being stored in the cloakroom. We ask that guest do not bring large bags if it can be avoided.
Guest who leave the club will be allowed to reenter: 1) If they have proof of that they have already paid entry on the night.
2) If the club is not full to capacity at the time of reentry. 3) If they are not intoxicated or rude to staff or other guests.
4) Last entry is 2am so we cannot permit reentry after this time.
Unfortunately, Why Not Nightclub is not currently wheelchair accessible due to the building’s Category A listed status, which prevents us from making certain structural alterations, including installing a lift. We truly value all our guests and understand how important accessibility is, and we’re committed to exploring any possible solutions within these constraints to improve access wherever we can.
To enter Why Not, you must be 18 or over.
We operate a strict Challenge 25 policy, so if you’re lucky enough to look under 25, please bring valid photo ID to confirm your age. Unfortunately, under 18s will not be permitted entry and could get big into trouble for trying.
Yes we take both cash and card. If you are paying by cash, please have this ready on arrival to ensure we keep the queue moving swiftly.
Guests can buy tickets in advance for our events or pay on arrival. For special events such as Halloween and New Year's Eve we do encourage guests to buy tickets in advance.
The earlier tickets are secured the bigger the discount guests can secure.
To book a VIP table simply click here. Read over the instructions and click the Table Service section then enter the details of your party. If you require more information please call out office any day between 10am - 5pm and ask our office team, they would be very happy to help.

We have the perfect space for groups of all sizes from 2 to 40, get in touch with our team today and we would be happy to help answer any questions.
Photography and video recording for personal use is permitted, provided it is done with a smartphone and in a manner that respects the rights of others. However, any filming or photography intended for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
We have an internal photography and video team covering the event.
You can visit us in person 7 days per week from 10am - 5pm to collect lost property however we strongly advise that you check your property has been found in Why Not before travelling to us. You can submit a message regarding lost property by clicking here.
