ANTI SPIKING POLICY

At Why Not Nightclub, we are fully committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and secure environment for all customers, staff, and visitors. Customer safety is our highest priority and we take reports of potential spiking extremely seriously. We work very closely with Police Scotland and have a longstanding relationship. Any offences found to take place in Why Not Nightclub will be reported to police and will include CCTV and the full support of management and security.

 

Our Commitment

We actively implement the following measures to prevent and respond to spiking or any form of customer harm:

  • Continuous CCTV monitoring across all public areas of the venue

  • Highly trained SIA-licensed security staff positioned throughout the club

  • Regular staff training on safeguarding, vulnerability awareness, and incident response

  • Close collaboration with Police Scotland and local licensing authorities

  • Immediate escalation procedures for any reported incidents

  • A zero-tolerance policy towards any form of drink tampering or criminal behaviour

 

If You Believe You or Someone Else Has Been Spiked

Your safety is our immediate priority. If you suspect spiking, please take the following steps:

  • Report to management or security immediately

  • Advise where you were in the venue during your time here

  • Share details of anything suspicious with management

  • Provide your contact information and that of any friends or witnesses

  • Visit your local hospital and request a toxicology report to support any investigation by venue management or police

 

Our team will:

  • Ensure you are in a safe and monitored environment

  • Provide immediate assistance and support

  • Arrange medical help where required

  • Secure and review CCTV footage

  • Liaise directly with Police Scotland

 

Zero Tolerance Policy

Why Not Nightclub operates a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding:

  • Drink spiking

  • Harassment or predatory behaviour

  • Any actions that compromise customer safety

 

Any individual suspected of such behaviour will be:

  • Removed from the venue immediately

  • Banned from re-entry

  • Reported to Police Scotland
