THE ROLE
As the General Manager of Why Not Nightclub, you will be at the helm of one of the city’s most iconic nightlife destinations, driving its continued success and leading a multi award winning team.
This role is your opportunity to shape the guest experience, ensuring Why Not remains synonymous with innovation, quality, and unparalleled service. From delivering first class events to managing the day-to-day operations, you will be responsible for every aspect of the venue’s performance, including team leadership, operational excellence, and financial growth.
You will play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring the highest standards are consistently met, and working closely with your team to inspire and develop talent.
With a focus on safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction, you’ll ensure Why Not is not only a market leading venue but a trusted and valued part of the community.
Beyond operations, you will spearhead the strategic growth of the business, working to grow profits, build partnerships, and push boundaries with fresh ideas and innovative approaches. RESPONSIBILITIES
As General Manager of Why Not Nightclub, you will take full ownership of operations at Edinburgh’s leading late-night venue.
You’ll be responsible for every aspect of the business, from team leadership and financial growth to delivering unforgettable events and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests and employees.
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone with strategic vision who thrives in fast-paced environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive operational excellence, overseeing day-to-day management of the venue.

Lead and inspire a multi-award-winning team, creating a culture of excellence and development.

Oversee the delivery of weekly events in collaboration with our promoter team.

Be the face of the business, building partnerships and relationships that drive growth.

Operational Leadership: Ensure the venue runs efficiently and consistently meets the highest standards of service and presentation.

Team Development: Recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team, promoting staff development and morale.

Customer Experience: Map the entire customer journey, ensuring seamless, exceptional service at every touchpoint.

Financial Management: Oversee budgets, control costs, and drive year-on-year profit growth.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure the venue adheres to all Health & Safety, Licensing, and Fire regulations.

Events Management: Collaborate with promoters to deliver innovative and unforgettable weekly events.

Community Engagement: Build relationships with local businesses, hotels, and corporate entities to attract bookings and grow customer loyalty.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
